These are the terms for using PLIFF, run by PLIFF, operated by Yonnick August, Barbados. Using the app means you accept them. They are short on purpose.

What you get

A training log that decides your next weight, on the web and installable to your phone, with the features described on the site. Your first 30 days are free and no card is asked for. If you are a member of a gym that pays for PLIFF, their plan covers you and you are never asked to pay anything.

PLIFF is a young product built by one person. Things will change and occasionally break. Where something changes in a way that takes a feature away, you will be told rather than left to discover it.

Your account

  • Give a real email address. It is the only way to get back in if you forget your password, and confirming it is what creates the account.
  • Keep your password to yourself. Anyone who has it can do anything you can.
  • One account per person. Do not share a login with somebody else.
  • You must be 16 or older to hold your own account. Gyms adding junior members are responsible for having a parent or guardian's permission.

Gyms and coaches

If you run a gym on PLIFF, you decide who is on your roster and your staff can see their attendance and training. With that comes a responsibility: tell your members that you use PLIFF and what your staff can see. Everything visible to you is set out in the privacy policy, including the things that are never visible to you — bodyweight being the main one.

Do not add somebody to your roster who has not agreed to it. Invitations exist so that people join because they chose to.

Members' accounts are their own. If somebody leaves your gym, they keep their account and their training history, and you stop seeing it.

Paying

  • Plans are sold for twelve months, in Barbados dollars. A gym buys a band covering a number of members rather than counting seats.
  • Where payment is by bank transfer or mMoney, access starts once the payment is confirmed. A short grace period may be given while a transfer is matched.
  • Where payment is by card, it is handled by Stripe. PLIFF never sees your card number.
  • A term does not auto-renew into a surprise. You will be told before it ends.
  • Prices can change, but never for a term you have already paid for.

Refunds

The 30-day trial exists so you can decide before paying anything. If you pay and then find PLIFF is not for you, get in touch within 14 days and you will be refunded in full. After that, a term runs to its end. If PLIFF stops working for a long stretch through no fault of yours, tell us and it will be put right — by extending your term or refunding the part you lost.

What PLIFF is not

PLIFF is not medical or coaching advice. It suggests weights by reading what you have already lifted. It does not know your injuries, your sleep, or what your body is doing today. You are responsible for your own training: use your judgement, stop when something hurts, and get proper advice for anything medical.

Lifting carries risk. Using this app does not transfer any of that risk to us.

Fair use

Do not:

  • Break into, overload, or probe the app or other people's accounts.
  • Scrape it, resell it, or pass it off as your own.
  • Use it to send anybody unwanted messages.
  • Upload anything unlawful or abusive.

Accounts doing these things can be suspended without notice. Everything else gets a warning first.

Ending it

You can leave whenever you like: delete your account from the account page and everything goes with it, immediately. If you have paid for a term you are still inside, the refund terms above apply.

PLIFF can close an account for a serious breach of these terms. If that happens you will be told why, and given your data first unless the reason makes that impossible.

Liability

PLIFF is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the problem — and nothing here removes rights you have under Barbados law that cannot be signed away.

Keep your own records if they matter to you. Backups are taken and export is one button on your account page, but no service should be your only copy of something you would hate to lose.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Barbados, and its courts settle anything arising from them.
